* 1966 -- The Pasco Bulldogs, who had to settle for runner-up honors the previous two years, relied on the powerful running of senior fullback Clifton Allen and a strong defensive line in posting a 6-0 victory over Richland in the fifth annual Tri-City Shrine Jamboree championship game at Pasco Memorial Stadium.
* 1973 -- A "Vigilante Committee and Kangaroo Court" was established to "capture and prosecute" Othello residents in defiance of the Rodeo Week Cowboy Dress Code. Othello Fair and Rodeo Week officials Bud Hampton and Robin Perry said that residents were required to wear at least three pieces of cowboy attire or pay a $2 fine to benefit the Kids Animal Scramble.
* 1977 -- Truly A Pistol fired to a first place finish in the $500 added Sun Rise Handicap on the opening day of the autumn Sun Downs Quarter Horse meet in Kennewick. It was the 10th victory of the season for the three-year-old owned by Corky Wheeler and trained by Larry Wheeler of Vancouver.
