It's not just football that's getting ready to gear up.
Cross country starts Friday with the perennial opener, the Hermiston Invitational.
Phil English and the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association put out their preseason rankings.
Kamiakin (3) and Southridge (8) saw their boys teams ranked in 4A, as are Richland's girls (7). Hanford's girls are No. 10 in 3A.
