ESPN HoopGurlz put out its list of the top 100 high school basketball players, and the Mid-Columbia's own Danielle Walter made the cut.
Danielle was ranked No. 67 as the only Washington player on the list.
She received a grade of 93 from the scouts who helped compile the rankings.
She is also ranked 16th in the country among shooting guards.
Former Hermiston standout Shoni Schimmel is No. 10 on the national list.
The Class of 2011 isn't ranked, but Moses Lake's Jordan Loera is on the top 100 list, as is Shoni's sister Jude.
Of course, that's looking ahead. The 2009 Washington All-State Girls Basketball Games, taking place Saturday in Spokane, celebrate the previous season's stars.
There are three games on the slate at West Valley High. The 1:30 p.m. game features the 2B/1B players, with the 1As at 3:30 p.m. and the 3As and 2As at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and senior citizens.
Area players taking part are Hanford's Haley Tank (3A/2A East), River View's Becky Flores (1A East), Kiona-Benton's Sara Vannoy (1A East) and DeSales' Caitlin Duncan (2B/1B East).
Til next time ...
