Hotsquatch: we're dying out here

By Jeremy Dutton

Looking the forecast this morning, it seemed like festivalgoers were going to be treated to something they haven't seen in years. Sun and lots of it. No surprises this time. I'm sitting next to a woman from Calgary who has made the 10-hour or so drive for the last four years — all for Sasquatch. She shared this sentiment with me. Finally this is they year I've been praying for. There's hardly a cloud in the sky.

Each of the last years we've been here, some crazy weather event has come out of nowhere. It was 2006 I believe when hail fell from the sky causing misery for everyone. Then rain. Now it's just hot! Combine that with sitting in it for 12 hours and the sun reflecting off the dark surface floor and you've got nowhere to hide. I've been here for three hours and I'm already on my third coat of sunscreen. Time for a water break.
