I have recently observed campaign sign for Sheriff Lathim that says he has lowered the crime rate to 64% how can that be touted by him as sheriff? I know for a fact that the FBI gets the numbers from all law enforcement agencies by the Uniform Crime Reports. These are used by law enforcement agencies for crime rate statistics as measuring stick Jim Raymond states a fact when he wrote “The success of plummeting crime rates in our county and city is not because of an individual.” The community has made lot of sacrifices but the one thing that has helped the city of Pasco is the police department getting the community to work together. This partnership has helped the citizens combat crime in the community with the help of everyone.
The current Franklin County sheriff has been in the position way too long during which the sheriff’s organization has forgotten the most important task at hand is to work with the community which includes all groups and agencies including other law enforcement in building good relationships. I know Jim Raymond will not look back or remain idle, because of the current success.
