What are the qualities necessary to successfully fulfill the duties of the Benton County Assessor?
1) Education: Mary Phillips has a master's degree in Resource Management. It was hard-won, accomplished while working full-time and raising her family.
2) Experience: For 13 years Mary has managed the Benton County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department. She has developed strong, cooperative relationships with the other Benton County departments. Through GIS training workshops she designed and presented, Mary has enhanced the professional development and effectiveness of many county employees.
3) Leadership: As president of the Columbia Basin GIS Users Group, Mary has utilized her management skills to work cooperatively with state, county, city and regional agencies.
4) Integrity: Mary is honest, reliable, innovative, bright, dependable, hard-working and fair-minded. She epitomizes a favorite family saying: "A job worth doing is worth doing well."
As her mother, I can assure you that Mary Phillips will be an excellent Benton County Assessor.
