Teachers were out on street corners May 21 wanting the public’s support for better pay or raises. With all the different signs one caught my eye — “Let the legislature know.” This from one of the biggest voting blocks in the state of Washington. Teachers have power. However they keep voting the same union leaders into office. These people keep supporting the same people in government who provide money to the school districts but put stipulation on that money. Now the money stays in the district offices and not to the teachers. Proof of this is the old Buttreys store on 4th Avenue in Kennewick. More people supporting the new regulation placed on the district. I want some government oversight, but it has gone too far. Voting for the same people is like continually putting your hand on a hot stovetop and getting the same results. Keep doing the same thing, and the results will be the same.
