A front-page article (TCH, Sept. 17) reported on Sen. Maria Cantwell's plan to introduce legislation to remove the tax-exempt status of the National Football League because they won't force the Washington Redskins to change their name. The article quoted Cantwell as saying, "This is not about team tradition. It is about right and wrong."
Let me suggest to Sen. Cantwell the following: Abortion is not about women's rights; it is about right and wrong. It is wrong to kill an unborn child. Always has been, always will be -- regardless of the law and what percentage of people rationalize why abortion is OK. If Sen. Cantwell is so concerned about right and wrong, maybe she should reconsider her radical pro-abortion stance. Also, she should not be so quick to invoke a right-versus-wrong argument about what a football team calls itself when she is so ready to ignore the right-versus-wrong argument about killing unborn children.
