Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. KAPP/KVEW News has a segment called "open mike," involving two journalists from the Yakima Herald Republic discussing various topics in the news, ranging from political topics, candidates running for office, etc. During the past spring, high school sports season two journalists from the same newspaper also were weighing in with their opinions about who was doing what, which teams and/or athletes were the ones to watch, blah, blah, blah. This is fine and well if anyone in the Tri-Cities wants to know what's going on in Yakima. I would think there are some Tri-Cities residents that would like to see some of the journalists from the Tri-City Herald given the same equal opportunity on "open mike." I know I would.
KAPP/KVEW claims to be regional Yakima and Tri-Cities news. From what I have seen on their 6:30 broadcast the "open mike" segment is one sided; it's all Yakima based.
