Mr. Berrar (Letters, Aug. 13) is going to vote for Clint Didier because he is "immune to the Good Old Boy Club." That's one reason I suppose. Personally, I would like to have a representative that will represent me and my neighbors. Not one that is just going to fight the system. We need one that will use the system -- and fight it if necessary -- to get things done: to govern. I do not see how Didier is qualified -- or even able -- to do that.
But first, we need to take ownership of our government. We need to vote. All of us. Not the 37 percent that bentonelections.com reports on its website as having returned a ballot in Benton County.
I am appalled at this.
The top two winners got a total of 20,00 votes. Really? My future -- our children's future -- is being decided by 20,000 people? How do you feel about that? Will they represent you or a vocal minority? Is this the democracy you want? Is this the democracy our boys have fought, bled, and died for?
Never miss a local story.
