I'm addressing a wasted opportunity. Seattle has the Space Needle; St. Louis the Arch; Camden, N.J.; an outstanding murder rate. Why is it then when we in Richland have such an iconic land mark we do not market it? Yes, I'm talking about the big Hole -- that gargantuan divot left by the former community center.
Now most communities would fill it in and use it for parking for things like the farmers market or happenings in the park. What a waste. We have the Hole! Let's be proud of the Hole. Let's advertise the Hole. And since it "butts" up against George Washington Way, let's think of a name for the Hole.
