When deciding how to handle the huge influx of unaccompanied children crossing into the U.S., we must consider several things.
The most important is that many of these children are not of an age to make the decision to come to America. The parents of these children made the decision to put their children at risk as a free pass to get themselves into this country.
As heart-wrenching as it is, we cannot allow this to happen. We must send a message that is loud and clear we will not allow these kids to stay here.
In the past we have allowed this; we cannot continue.
The U.S is not in a position to take in all the people in today's world who are in a bad situation. These countries have to be made of aware of this. We should deduct from their foreign aid checks what it costs to house and keep them here until we can return them. That is the only way I can see to solve this problem.
