When I see the class action lawsuits advertised on TV, I can't help but chuckle. Why? It's kind of a long story, but I'll be as brief as I can. Some years ago, I was duck hunting on a pond north of Pasco. As I went to the parking area to leave, I met another hunter. He noted the make of shotgun I had and asked if I was in on the lawsuit against them. I said, "no," but out of curiosity I asked about it. It seems a fellow in Texas had the barrel of that make of gun blow up on him (probably had stuck it in the mud or plugged the barrel some way). I asked if he was in on the lawsuit and his reply was, "well, of course."
I saw the same fellow the following duck season and asked how he came out on the lawsuit. His reply made me chuckle and is why I still do over class action lawsuits to this day. He got $11.57, which is hardly worth making the phone call.
