I would like to comment on David Chassin's letter that appeared in the July 28 Tri-City Herald.
Though I agree that our country's response to an act of outright barbarism should be as he described (as is Israel's), I believe that it would never happen in today's insane, politically correct, brave new world.
It would have happened in the United States that I grew up in, the country that fought and won World War II, but today we would turn it over to the United Nations which would discuss it for months while the rockets continued to kill our citizens.
If anyone responded (it would most likely be the states or a resistance group, not our federal government), they would be the culprits (as is Israel). The media would go on blindly supporting our inept leadership until one of those rockets took out CBS or NBC workers or family. Even then the media would probably reset its blinders and continue on, serving up a steady diet of the party line.
