On behalf of United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties staff and board of directors, we would like to thank each and every volunteer who helped with two recent events. Run or Dye was on July 12, and more than 100 United Way volunteers of all ages helped with registration, water stations, color stations and clean up. Besides making the event a success, their commitment helped earn $7,700 for United Way for local services and programs.
Unions for United Way was on July 19 and, together, almost 50 volunteers from Local Union 598, HAMTC, Central Washington Building Trades Union and the general community completed much needed building improvements to the Boys & Girls Clubs' Music & Arts Center in downtown Kennewick. Many local businesses also donated needed materials for this project. Both events are a true demonstration of what it means to Live United by coming together to improve lives in our community. We cannot thank you enough.
