Regarding Ted Johnson's letter on July 13. I agree there is a double standard at the Water Follies. Too much attention is given to the Kennewick side of the river to entertain people between heats. However, I do not agree that canopies be allowed to stay up all weekend on the Pasco side.
First of all, if they start charging for spots like they do in Kennewick, the river banks will be full of people who have that kind of money to spend and very few spots for the people. Tickets are expensive enough without having to pay for a good spot. So I say, do like the rest of us looking for a fair shake and get up early to secure your spot on the river.
I applaud the people who volunteer and remove canopies left overnight.
