On behalf of the Warehime family, thank you to a community that offered an unbelievable amount of emotional support, compassion, love and concern over the past 21/2 years since Gregg was shot.
While this letter is long overdue, we feel the timing is appropriate, as Gregg graduates from nursing school Saturday.
During the hardest time of our lives, we were humbled by the generosity of our community. It all began with Josh Weston and Gregg's fellow Columbia Basin College nursing students organizing fundraisers. These fundraisers brought together local businesses, restaurants, friends, neighbors and strangers. All donations received, which were matched by Senske Services, helped Gregg with living expenses these past few years.
Our sincere gratitude extends beyond financial support. The Pasco Police Department, Emergency Services and Kadlec Hospital staff, Dr. Matthew Fewell, Dr. Philp G. Smith, and Dr. Douglas Crawford were invaluable helping us make very difficult decisions!
Never miss a local story.
Gregg's care extended to St. Luke's Rehab in Spokane, then back to the Tri-Cities, where numerous physical therapist helped along the way.
Gregg's recovery leading up to this very special graduation would not have been possible without the assistance of countless individuals. Truly a community pulling together.
From our hearts, thank you from the entire Warehime family.
RETTA WAREHIME, Kennewick
