Benjamin Cook "We need answers" (Letters, May 13) wants answers to four questions about the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi. He says the four Americans who died during the attack won't rest in peace, and their families won't find closure until those questions are answered. If Republicans haven't found answers to these questions after 13 hearings and 50 briefings on Benghazi, then they've proven themselves incompetent to hold any further hearings on any matters of interest to the American people. Republicans are just prolonging this tragedy for political purposes.
Mr. Cook states that the president and secretary of state need to be held accountable for their actions "If we are going proceed as a civilized society and rule of law
..." I believe he's sincere, so I'm sure he would agree with me that we should begin by holding George Bush and his secretaries of state accountable for their lies that killed 4,500 Americans in Iraq. Those heroes should rest in peace and their families should have closure before Republicans are allowed to indulge themselves in any more Benghazi hearings. Or do Republicans consider those 4,500 deaths just not as politically valuable as the four who died in Benghazi?
