The founders came to the shores of America in search of religious freedom, not freedom from religion. They had enough of a government-chosen religion forced on them. They adopted what was known as "The Articles of Confederation." Realizing those were insufficient, they produced a Constitution which was later amended, and those amendments became known as the "Bill of Rights." The Bill of Rights was adhered to for a number of years.
Liberal lawyers, liberal judges and liberal politicians realize these rights are difficult or impossible to change through the legislative process required by Constitutional law. Therefore, they twist the wording to render meanings which the founders never intended.
People can rant and rave about religious rights, but I can read the First Amendment also. It states, "Congress shall make no law regarding an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That's plain language not needing interpretation.
The free exercise of religion clause has been violated because Congress placed requirements within Obamacare that prohibits one from exercising his religious rights. Religious rights don't end at the door of a business, sir!
Never miss a local story.
