Attention snowmobile and outdoor enthusiasts! The U.S. Forest Service is proposing to add 40,000 acres of land in the Umatilla National Forest into wilderness and thousands more into nonmotorized vehicle use and wildlife corridors in the name of "best science available" for forest management.
If left unchecked, the "preferred" alternative would leave much of our National Forest off limits for activities such as snowmobiling, off-highway vehicle use and on-road vehicle use. The "Blue Mountains Forest Revision Plan" is available online at tinyurl.com/m52a5zu for public comment and meetings are being held. The site offers a chance to review the impact study and write a "public comment letter."
Please make your voice heard and write a public comment letter today. I and other members of the Tollgate Trailfinders Club supports Alternative "D."
