I'm not criticizing, just an observation. People in the Tr-Cities were asked to come up with some ways to encourage tourism. When I travel to the Tri-Cities, I'm struck by the lack of any kind of, shall I call it, "showstopping," quality. There is nothing to stop travelers or gain their interest when they pass by. The tallest building is the Pasco water towers, and I doubt anyone would stop just to see them.
I got this idea by watching the Sochi Olympics. The Olympic flame spire was beautiful. You can have all the wineries and trails you want but no one except people who like wine are going to stop for that.
You need something that towers above the cities, something that travelers would want to stop to see closer, then you can further interest them in other things the area has to offer.
Get them to stay and visit the wineries, the carousel, the museums, etc. First you have to get them to stop!
Never miss a local story.
