Martin Bensky (Fast Focus, Feb. 9) stated that "local right-wing ideologues" can't provide any instances of President Obama's overuse of executive orders.
Does Bensky really believe that? If so, I would suggest that maybe you should pull your head from the sand and look around. He not only misuses his executive power but he only enforces the laws he likes and ignores the ones he doesn't like. Even more dangerous to our republic is his changing law without Congress and not even attempting the use of executive order to do so.
Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution states, "he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed." His job function is to enforce the law as written, not make law.
Jonathan Turley, a liberal law professor (George Washington University) and a constitutional attorney, said the president is misusing his executive power and that it's unconstitutional.
Bensky stated (Letters, Feb. 12) that Republicans jumped on the CBO report that Obamacare would cause 2 million job losses. If it won't result in job losses, then why did the president unlawfully halt the "employer mandate" until after the coming elections? He's changing Obamacare without executive orders. That's glaringly unconstitutional!
Does impeachment come to mind?
