As the program director at Royal Columbian Retirement Inn, I receive a lot of ideas and suggestions from the folks who live here. This week, Sunday's comics were on my desk with a yellow Post-It note saying, "Let's send Charlie Brown a huge Valentine's card from all of us at Royal Columbian!" One of the residents felt bad that Snoopy received all of the Valentines, leaving Charlie Brown with none.
I just love our folks here at the Retirement Inn. They are always so thoughtful, and looking out for one another (including Charles Schulz's character in the Sunday paper.) I think that is really what Valentine's Day is all about, showing that you care. No matter who it is, that random act of kindness is what everyone needs -- no matter your age. You are never to old to send a Valentine's Day card.
