Our Prosser School District's school maintenance and operating levy will expire soon, and on Feb. 11 a replacement levy will be on the ballot for our schools. I urge all voters in the district to support our schools and community by voting yes on this ballot for the levy.
Through my involvement in the city government and serving on different boards, I meet a lot of people with an interest in Prosser -- whether to locate here or to start a new business. Without fail, one of their top questions is "Do you have a good school system and does the community support the schools?" My answer is always yes to both questions.
The Prosser School District is an integral part of this community's fabric and I feel strongly that as our school goes, so goes our community. This levy is vital to supplement what the state allocates to the school district.
By supporting our youth and their future you are also supporting our community's future. Please vote yes.
PAUL WARDEN, Prosser mayor
