About the removing of the letters at Richland High, I noticed there wasn't a request for public comment or input. District officials know it would have been protested, so do it when no one is looking and announce it as it was done. Maybe they needed an environmental impact statement.
Another example of protecting ourselves from ourselves. People getting hurt was just an excuse. It would seem things of tradition are destined to be buried, or in this case dug up. My wife graduated from Richland as well as our children. It's just like the attempt to remove the symbol or name "Bombers." People like their traditions and things that remind them of their heritage. It's too bad they were removed. We wouldn't want history reminding us of our past.
