When things got a little too hot for the Obamacare debacle, the spin meisters pivoted to a different subject to take the heat off. This time it was income inequality. I think that their distorted viewpoint is too narrow. What we should be focusing on is the quality of life and, therein, we have almost an egalitarian society.
When I grew up in the thirties we didn't have many things which we enjoy today. Today, no matter how rich or poor we are, almost all of us now have electricity, TV, computers, indoor plumbing, automobiles, heating and air conditioning, better health care, low cost food and more. We can all listen to the same music, the same TV programs; the same movies; have access to a smartphone, etc. All these things can be attributed to capitalists who have invented things, used mass production and managed companies, which made this all possible. I don't begrudge their larger salaries or more lavish lifestyles. They have earned it for what they have done for us, plus they give a lot to charity.
The socialists and liberals have done nothing except keep their supporters in constant poverty. Raising their minimum wages without increasing productivity only increases inflation and unemployment.
