If state Sen. Mark Schoesler needs some clarity about when it's OK to accept free lunches from lobbyists (Page A4, Dec. 21), maybe I can help. How about never?
During my first ethics training, a sage supervisor summed it up this way: "If you have to ask for clarification if it's right or wrong, it's probably wrong."
How about a more logical alternative where the lobbyists and politicians donate their estimated $65,000 of free lunches to the Mid- Columbia Meals on Wheels, which will have its budget cut by that precise amount in 2014?
