Letter: Dan Wilson, child prodigy?
So according to the little sidebar about Dan Wilson becoming the Mariners' roving catching instructor, he must have started with the Reds when he was 15 years old if he is 44 now, played for the Reds for 14 seasons, then played the majority of his career -- which would have to be at least 15 years -- with the Mariners!
I suspect what The Associated Press meant to say was that he spent two years with Cincinnati and the remainder of his 14-year career with the Mariners.
I just hope this new assignment doesn't preclude him from occasional visits to the broadcast booth!
