Generally, I don't think it's a good idea to respond to someone mocking God -- something about pigs and pearls, but I found D. L. (Andy) Anderson's Dec. 8 letter equating Santa Claus with God -- inspired by Andy Rooney's speculation that the two are cousins -- to be particularly brash.
To be able to so confidently proclaim the nonexistence of God apparently is not hubris but the stamp of an "educated/intelligent adult."
While I can't speak to my intelligence I am certain of one thing. On Nov. 4, 2011 , the day Andy Rooney died, he had a meeting with God. And it wasn't about Santa Claus.
