What does the city of Pasco and Obamacare enrollments have in common? They both had populations around 51,000 as of Oct. 7. To be fair, these enrollment numbers were reported by two employees processing the data for the Department of Health and Human Services. Unfortunately, the administration can't seem to find any figures since their Day 1 boastings about the "five million hits" on the Obamacare website.
The deadline to enroll or face penalty is March 31. However, insurance companies are reporting that this deadline is actually Valentine's Day because insurance coverage begins on the first day of the month, and the processing time to set up coverage usually takes at least two weeks.
Since the Congressional Budget Office reported that there needs to be about 7 million enrollees for Obamacare to be financially viable, this means there needs to be about 53,000 new enrollees each day before the deadline.
But then again, maybe the fines going out to the tens of millions who don't enroll on time will cover the difference.
Bottom line is, Obama won't allow the individual mandate to be delayed, yet there's no way it won't be.
