In case folks haven't noticed, the city of Kennewick is in the midst of the latest "chip-sealing" exercise for the main arterial streets.
One of the streets to get chip sealed this time is Southridge Boulevard, which is the street in front of the Southridge Sports Complex. This is a street that was just repaved last year. Why this needs to be chip sealed is a mystery to me.
Instead of having a nice, smooth asphalt street to go along with the nice, new sports complex, the city will end up with a rough textured, gravel spitting street that really belongs out in the hinterlands somewhere. Good way to impress visitors!
