U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers is at it again. I wrote her recently about the Farm Bill. She replied: "Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 2642, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management (FARRM) Act of 2013.
"I was proud to support the FARRM Act, which passed the House on July 11. This ... will save taxpayers money, repeal outdated government programs, and provide the necessary safety net for Eastern Washington's farmers and agricultural community."
The bill's "anti-poverty program" includes massive give-aways to corporate farms that pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and banished poverty forever among their ranks. As major contributors to McMorris Rodgers' election funds, it's good she keeps them happy, even if they are much less than 0.01 percent of the citizenry.
Her repeal of "outdated government programs" includes SNAP. As we know, there is no more hunger in America, no kids on school lunch programs, no families eking out existence on crappy minimum-wage jobs. We toast her far-seeing beneficence. Great view from the yacht, eh?
I know as a tea partier, she doesn't care about people from the "taker" class. The lot of them can rot.
I want my country back.
