Our 12-year-old daughter is an ice skater who is a member of Tri-City Figure Skating Club. She first discovered ice skating when she was 7 and has loved it ever since.
She began skating before we moved to the Tri-Cities four years ago. We were thrilled that the Toyota Arena and TCFSC were here because they allowed her to continue an activity about which she feels passionate.
Whenever possible, parents try to give their children opportunities to try activities such as sports, music, art, etc. It is great when children find something they enjoy, want to pursue and put their all into.
As pointed out in the Herald's article on the situation between the Toyota Arena and nonprofit TCFSC, the future of local club figure skating is in jeopardy. Our family hopes and believes that a solution can be found that allows TCFSC to continue and grow for the benefit of Tri-City families today and in the future.
Never miss a local story.
We encourage the Toyota Arena and involved parties to work with TCFSC to find a balanced financial model that allows this community resource to continue.
