Here it is Aug. 15 and not yet has any Biblical student or professional pointed out the distinction between civil and Christian teaching regarding obeying one over the other.
Washington lawyers and naturalized citizens of this country take an oath to obey the U. S. Constitution, the state constitution and the state laws. Citizens born in this country have options, however there are penalties for disobeying the state laws.
Paul, speaking to the Romans many centuries ago, made it specifically apposite to the present dilemma: "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and render unto God that which is God's." He told the early day Christians to obey Caesar -- essentially what the State Attorney General and the ACLU are insisting business owners in this state must do.
For some reason there are those who believe otherwise. To them I say take your argument to the state legislature to change the Law, not always an easy challenge. Otherwise, in the words of an ancient poker player I knew: Read 'em and weep.
