I am thankful to the Columbia Basin Badgers Club for putting on the forum "But I thought it was MY Business!" The speakers, attorney Beth Barrett Bloom (speaking from the perspective of the ACLU) and Central United Protestant Pastor David Parker (speaking from a religious view point) were excellent examples of compelling civil discourse. Their differing opinions on what a business owner's rights are when it comes to matters of faith, personal values and beliefs made for a very thought provoking conversation.
The Tri-Cities is very fortunate to have the Badger Club and the Tri-City Herald's Community Conversation where sensitive and oftentimes emotional subjects can be politely discussed.
