I saw this on the internet (author unknown) the other day and had to share: "The United States should invade the United States and win the hearts and minds of the population by rebuilding roads, bridges and the electrical grid, putting the locals to work and paying them good wages."
While I paraphrased it a bit, think of how much better off we as a nation could be if we put the money we will save by not fighting two wars toward the rebuilding of the United States. Since we've ignored our infrastructure for the last 10 years while rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan, we won't need to bomb ourselves first.
We just need Congress to declare war against ourselves. After all, to quote Pogo, "We have met the enemy and he is us."
