I am convinced that President Obama and his IRS commissioner did not know about extra "scrutiny" being given to conservative political groups seeking recognition as "social welfare" organizations. I'm equally convinced of the following:
-- Previous Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner did not intentionally fail to report taxable income prior to being nominated by Obama.
-- George Bush and Karl Rove were not involved in publically identifying a covert CIA agent (Valarie Plame Wilson) in retaliation for her husband's op-ed piece stating that he looked for, but did not find, evidence that Sadam Hussein was trying to buy yellow cake uranium in Niger.
-- Columnist Robert Novak, who was the tool for identifying Valarie Plame Wilson, did not think revealing her identity might be illegal or even unwise.
-- Bill and Hillary Clinton actually associate with people whose nannies are legal residents of the United States.
-- George Bush truly believed Sadam Hussein was an existential threat to the United States.
-- Both George Bush and Barack Obama nominated Supreme Court justices based strictly on merit and without regard to ideology.
-- The moon is really made of green cheese.
What I don't understand is how our society could have devolved to the point that obviously political organizations (for example Crossroads GPS and Move On.org) can be considered tax exempt as "social welfare organizations."
