Put the racetrack back on track. In 2004, Tri-City Raceway was shut down after more than 30 years of successful operation. Unfortunately, big business and big egos got in the way.
Now after letting it rot for years, the Port of Kennewick is now saying they have a plan? How about doing the right thing and re-open the racetrack.
The track is used by Sand and Sage Sports Car Club and there are many more auto sports supporters in town. Currently, we have to travel to Hermiston or Yakima to get our fix.
Auto racing can bring millions of dollars of revenue and taxes to the area if correctly operated. But if the port insists on having a wine focus, how about a wine tasting room over looking "Torturous Turn 3?" I bet you that's never been done before!
Never miss a local story.
