Congratulations to all the Kamiakin High School grads and to all the parents and teachers who challenged them to stick it out and get that diploma.
I was particularly impressed by the number of students who were acknowledged for academic and sports achievements and were asked to stand and be recognized. Noting that all the kids have something they are good at, and most of the speakers included a statement about the crowd not wanting to be burdened by lengthy rhetoric, somebody has to draw a line so that the grads can get on with the pomp and circumstance.
That being said, since there was not enough time during the ceremony to recognize the kids who received a high school diploma and will also receive an associate's degree from Columbia Basin College in a few weeks, I would like to give a tip of the hat to the following: Eliot Duane Drushella, Haley M. Green, Margaret Elizabeth Little, Tana Jean Savage and Devin Gregory Schell. Great job and never stop learning! Cool! I hear an especially prolonged round of applause!
Never miss a local story.
