On May 18, I was pleased to see your North American weather map showed precipitation symbols in perfect agreement with the legend boxes at the side of the map. And the symbols used were similar to what other newspapers use.
For the first time in recent memory, one could read the weather map without guesswork. Unfortunately, May 19 and 20 eliminated all the precipitation symbols from the map even though the United States was not all dry those days.
You owe your readers an apology and explanation of why it is so difficult to get the map right. Better luck in the days ahead!
