Pro and con positions about contraception, including "Plan B," reflect people's religious beliefs. Does this mean we should ignore children's health needs?
Aspirin and acetaminophen are dangerous drugs. Aspirin kills through Reyes syndrome complications. Acetaminophen is America's leading cause of liver failure and liver transplants.
The "Plan B" hormone is far safer for children than these drugs. Little girls are born with female hormone in their system. "Plan B" is one of the most widely researched and used drugs in the world.

Since every young girl is potentially vulnerable to incest and rape, she deserves protection from life-threatening pregnancy. Not all parents can be relied on to possess the best information that would protect their children from harm. It's not likely a child will buy or ingest the drug capriciously; one tablet costs about $40.
Requiring any adolescent to display nonexistent identification is counterproductive. Would we really prefer the alternative, for her to undergo a therapeutic abortion instead of using the pill?
