Now, if you live in the United States, you have probably heard the following statement or some variation of it at least 20 million times: "All this internet and technology is ruining Western society!"
You also at this point fit into one of two groups: If you answered "yes!" you're either over 40 or you are Amish. If you answered "no, that's stupid," you are a rational human being and probably not Amish.
Since time immemorial, people have thought that new innovations would bring the doom of mankind. It's not unique to this internet era. When books first came out, if it wasn't a Bible, it was blasphemous.
That's why the Bible is called the Good Book; it was seen as the only one that wasn't bad.
The internet will not cause the end of human interaction or even "real" interaction. Every day, I have the opportunity to mess around with a computer or other device, but I choose to spend the day with my friends instead. What's my favorite way to play video games? With a buddy on the couch with me. The internet won't destroy the world, and neither will the next thing.
