Why is it that when one topic comes up in the news, everyone jumps on the bandwagon and pretends to care about it?
Everyone is so into the story, until the next day or two when another lead story comes out. Then all of a sudden, the last issue is dropped from the public eye -- like a magic trick it just disappears.
We as citizens need to reconsider what's actually important and what will and will not affect us as a community and as individuals, because around here, what affects you also affects me in some way or another.
We need to stop pretending to care about issues and topics just because the person next to us does. Think for yourselves, people. It's the only way.
Never miss a local story.
If you really cared about something, you would take action on it instead of whining or complaining about it until tomorrow's paper arrives.
Take action. Be an active citizen in our community. Everyone has a role and can make a huge difference in the Tri-Cities and even society as a whole.
