Every time the wind blows hard, the Columbia River fills with tumbleweeds. The majority appear to come off the Hanford Reservation. I can't tell if any are contaminated, but they gather along both sides of the river and hang up at all the islands, docks and boat launches.
With the extensive concern for nuclear contamination getting into the river, it appears that these weeds should be contained and disposed of on site if possible. They can't be good for salmon, wildlife or our kids.
