According to the 2010 U.S. Census, more than 40 million immigrants live in the United States. Immigration has shaped and formed our country since the beginning. We are a nation of immigrants from all over the world.
Immigrants travel to the United States in search for a better life for their families. Their children who are born and brought here get many benefits that allow them to prosper in life in ways that they couldn't in their own country. They get a free education, in-state tuition and they become U.S. citizens if they were born here.
Immigrants also get health care and welfare benefits that allow them to live healthier and more economically stable lives.
Often immigrants come with the sole purpose to work to economically support their family. The also come to the United States to escape religious persecution, among other reasons.
Immigrants are a benefit to companies because they provide cheap labor. Immigrants also fill in all the jobs that aren't currently occupied by residents.
Furthermore, immigrations are a positive contribution to our country because when they cross the border they benefit the United States and themselves economically.
