The Establishment Clause of The United States Constitution clearly states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
How dare the Herald publish a piece nastily denigrating a local business, which business owner has every constitutional right to operate his or her business based on the tenants of the above mentioned Establishment Clause!
Certainly the U.S. Constitution, trumps any state or local law regarding the free exercise of a business owners absolute right to operate his business according his/her religious beliefs.
Would that Arlene's Flowers had the ability to sue the Tri-City Herald for defamation with malice aforethought. Sadly, not likely, as the Herald is fully aware.
Never miss a local story.
For shame TCH!
This, at a time when our liberal, if not fascist, federal government is doing its utmost to destroy large and small businesses via millions of lines of onerous regulations, mandated and ever-increasingly expensive health care, and the many years-long constant devaluation of our currency by the Federal Reserve printing enormous amounts of currency backed by nothing.
I deeply mourn the continually growing loss of our God and constitutionally given rights, including, but not limited to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
