Last week you ran an article about a Pasco farmer who was going to the border to recruit workers for next year. Why doesn't he just go down to the DSHS office and get the mailing list for all the local people who are receiving welfare checks? I know this sounds tough, but until we take a hard stance on this issue, nothing will ever get done. I have heard all of the excuses like "Americans are too lazy" or "we can't force people to work for their welfare checks," etc.
Now let's talk immigration reform. The problem is liberals want more voters, big business wants cheap labor, and you and I, the taxpayers get stuck footing the bill. How much do we pay for interpreters? Emergency room medical care? Free and reduced lunches? Migrant worker housing?
Construction workers get no subsidies like housing or free child care. How fair is that?
