The question has been asked; "How do we end violence?" In my opinion violence is like a naughty child, the more attention you give it, the more it misbehaves. We need a broadcast media that doesn't feel compelled to fill airtime with endless coverage of tragedies such as the recent mall and school shootings. We all felt deep sympathy for the people involved in those shootings. However, reporters are magnifying these happenings, capitalizing on the grief of others. Yes, we need to know about these tragedies. No, we don't need hours and hours and hours of "in-depth coverage." I feel it encourages others with similar mental problems to take similar actions.
