VINCENT LEE PIERCE, Touchet
The entire town of Touchet must have been present Dec. 5 at the crowded Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home. For those with roots in the community and managed to squeeze into the service, the nostalgic waves of mourning were uniquely heart-wrenching. Familiar faces gazed up from the somber huddle, trying to muster smiles through tears. Once again, Touchet embraced to weather the excruciating torrent of loss.
It's unfortunate that it takes such tragedy to so tightly bind us together.
However, it's also monumental evidence that Robert Schaeffer was highly regarded and now, sorely missed by the family that surrounds the Schaeffers, the Family of Touchet.
