LIZ HERBNER, Kennewick
As a proud parent of a Park Middle School sixth-grader, I was very surprised at the injustice that occurred the other day. My child came home with a beat up $20 skateboard, claiming he traded his $200 long board for a day with a couple of high school students.
I approached the young student at the high school after my son said they would not trade back. I talked with the principal of Kennewick High School along with the police officer and the security guard. All said there has been no crime and to go home because there was nothing they could do.
Clearly, this was a case of bullying a little child out of his belongings and not a darn thing was done. I cannot believe we are sending this message home and endorsing bullying in our schools.
